Udupi, Feb 14: "FIR should be registered against the District Corrupt officials of Mines department and Geologists, otherwise from 28th February, protest will be held at in front of District In-charge Minister office by the members of Karnataka Dalita Sangharsha Samithi Maha Okoota," said Udayakumar Tallur, State Convener of KDSS, state committee.

He said that Senior Mines department official Kodandaram S and Geologists Mahesh and Mahadevappa are directly involved in the illegal sand mining in CRZ and nonCRZ areas and these corrupt officials are cheating the government.

In this regard, District Commissioner and district in-charge minister have asked the reasons for the complaint to officials of Mines and Geologists. But these corrupt officials have denied the allegations on them. As per the Dalita Okoota, there is lot of instances in regard to the illegal sand mining including the raid on sand mining at Handadi near Brahmavar. These officials directly involved with illegal sand extraction owners. KDSS demanding immediate register FIR and should suspend the corrupt officials," he alleged.

Vishwanath Pethri, District President, Samatha Sainikdal, Udupi district, Ramesh Kotian Kelarkalbettu, District Convener of KDSS, Udupi district, Prashanth Thottam President of Social Change Movement, Udupi district, Krishna Baje, Kukkehalli, Association Convener, Sundar Anjar, District Treasurer were present.
