Udupi, Oct 27: "The State cabinet has given in-principle approval to provide land to set up a 400+200bed hospital by the BR Shetty Ventures Pvt Ltd at Moodanidambur village in Udupi district and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will lay down the B?R?Shetty to upgrade a government hospital into into multi-speciality hospital on October 30 2016, "said Youth and Fisheries minister Pramod Madhwaraj on Wednesday .
BRS ventures will now develop a 70-bed hospital in Udupi and expand it to a 200-bed super specialty maternity and paediatric hospital. The average out patient per day is 150 and the average inpatients per day around is 100.The existing place has became acutely insufficient to meet the current demand. Since it is government hospital its invariable needs to cater to poorer sections of the society who come for relief.
Where as per the aforesaid proposal Dr.BR Shetty has also proposed to put up to 400 bedded super specialty hospital in the same locality on the land that belongs to the said Mother and children hospital. The services for any Mother and children hospital patient seeking emergency treatment is completely free of cost in super specialty hospital. Besides this various groups of people coverered under different government schemes will have the priority as per guidelines of guideline of government of Karnataka.
He added that founder of Corporation Bank, Haji Abdulla Saheb, had donated about one and half acres of land for the construction of government hospital here with welfare of the general public in mind with certain conditions. Right now total land area here measures 3.6 acres. As per the plans, a building will be constructed first, after which the patients will be shifted to the new building from the old. Thereafter, the old structure would be demolished and a new hospital building will be constructed. As per the current proposal, a 400-bed hospital with an investment of Rs 200 crore will be established here.
There will be no financial community from the government of Karnataka for this project. The medical services at the charity hospital shall be completely free of cost for universal card holders and the charges for other will be as per guidelines of government of Karnataka. The nominal charges collected from patients other than universal health card holder at charity hospital shall be utilized for health purpose only.
The dispute that may arise will be resolved by the monitoring committee. If not any dispute or difference or claim arising arising out of or in connection with or related to the presented MOU or the breach termination or invalidity thereof shall be refered and settled under the arbitration centre Karnataka rules by one or more arbitrators appointed in accordance with its rules. The MOU shall come into force when signed duly by authorized represented of both parties.
